Welcome to summer! It does seem that the heat and humidity are early this year. However, the good side of this is that we seem to be "forced" to stay inside with our air conditioning....so what do we quilters do?...sew, sew, sew.
I'm even thinking about a Christmas project I want to begin. Our Pre-Inventory Sale will give you lots of ideas you can put to test while you enjoy the A.C.
You will note that our classes are fewer in number in this newsletter because so many of our teachers are away for the summer as well as are our customers. But come Oct., Nov. and Dec., we will be back to par and ready to go again. The big Jacksonville Quilt Show is Sept. 23, 24 and 25 so mark your calendars now. This show is a big ahow and well worth attending.

Remember to register early for class as class size is limited. Payment in full is required in advance. Class fees are non-refundable 48 hours prior to the class.
We know many reasons pop up that could cause you to run a bit late, but if you find you will be more than 10 minutes late for class we ask that you please take a minute to give the shop a call to let us know.
10% off class supplies purchased at CQB.All class fees listed do not include the cost of your supplies for that class.
Please be sure that your sewing machine is in good order and that you are comfortable with it. If your machine has been on a shelf for a while, don't forget to dust it off and have it serviced berfoe class. Nothing is more frustrating than to sit down to a machine that doesn't want to cooperate! You will enjoy yourself much more if you take care of this ahead of time. Thanks.

Saturday-July 24th Time: 10-1:30 The domestic art of hand quilting is back in vogue and in full swing. More and more people are expressing a desire to finish off their pieced and appliqued quilt tops with beautiful hand stitches. Join us in small classes where we will learn the values of fabric, needles, threa, hoops and stitches. You'll also learn how to avoid carpel tunnel syndrome while quilting. One of the many pleasures of hand quilting is the peacefulness thart takes over when the fingers begin to movein a quiet rhythm. Come join us in the resurrection of this gentle art. If you have had any doubts this handicraft, please remember we all started with big uneven stitches, but we had to start somewhere! |
